Bookkeepers
Louisiana HBPA employs a horsemen’s bookkeeper and an assistant bookkeeper at each of the four Louisiana racetracks. We also have a bookkeeper on duty weekdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm at our home office in New Orleans. The bookkeeper’s office is open on race days during the meet. You can find the individual office hours and contact information on the Offices menu.
W-9’s:
All accounts must have a W-9 and new account form on file with the Horsemen’s Bookkeeper to withdraw funds. You can download the forms below:

Claims:
Cash or wire transfers are the only acceptable methods of payment for Claims. Personal Checks and Money Orders are not accepted as payment. Wire transfers can also be made. Please contact a horsemen's bookkeeper for instructions.
Money Transfers:
To transfer money from one account to another, the person whose account the money is being transferred FROM must be present to sign a transfer slip or email/fax a horsemen's bookkeeper. Account must be verified by all parties.
Check Approval Policy:
All owners and trainers cashing checks with the Horsemen’s Bookkeeper must have a current LSRC license. Checks must be payable to a Licensed Party from a Licensed Party; Owners with sufficient funds on deposit and/or established trainers with no previously issued NSF checks may cash checks up to $500.00. Established trainers may present payroll checks for their employees for cashing.

NO APPROVALS TO INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY ISSUED NSF CHECKS and NO TWO-PARTY CHECKS ARE PERMITTED.
Wire Information:
The name of the person to be credited MUST BE on the wire.

Horse Aftercare:
The Automatic Horse Aftercare Donation will begin on August 1, 2019. The Donation is Five ($5) per start and will be deducted from the Horse owner’s bookkeeper account unless the member has submitted a signed form to the bookkeeper. The “Opt Out” form will be available at all of the LAHBPA’s bookkeeper and field offices, as well as online here for download. In the case of a multi-owner entity, either an authorized agent must sign or each owner must sign the form.
We ask that our Members please remain in the program in order to help care for our Equine Athletes after their racing careers.
